William Raby Knoxville, TN William Lyman Raby , born January 15, 1927, went to be with the Lord on June 11, 2015. He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel and Doll Raby ; son, Gary L. Raby ; brother-in-law, Jay W. Gibson. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Faye Raby ; their children, Linda (Ronnie) Headrick, Nancy (Johnny) Dalton, Donna (Dwayne) Smartt, Debra (Fred) Kimber; nine grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; sisters, Edna Gibson, Betty (Bob) Heath; many loving nieces, nephews, and other family members. Mr. Raby was a World War II Veteran, having served with the 15th Engineering Battalion of the U.S. Army. The family would like to extend a heartfelt Thank You to Dr. Botero, KOC, and the team of physicians, nurses and staff at Parkwest Medical Center, for providing excellent care. Family will receive friends at Weaver Funeral Home Sunday, 5:00 - 7:00 pm. Funeral service will follow, Rev. Byron Chambers and Rev. Eddie Seals officiating. Family and friends will meet at Weaver Funeral Home, 11:00 a.m. Monday, to proceed to Bookwalter Cemetery for 11:30 a.m. interment. Arrangements by Weaver Funeral Home, Knoxville.
