"CHUCK" JR. 55 formally of Knoxville, TN, died Friday at SECU hospice home in Smithfield, NC. Member of Aversboro Road Baptist Church, Garner NC. Graduate of Young High School class of '74, and from the University of Tennessee '78 where he recently served as a board member of the UT Alumni Group. Chuck was currently employed as the Safety Director with the NC Dept. of Environment and Natural Resources. Preceded in death on 3/15/12 by his father, Charles V. Stanfill , Sr. Survivors include loving mother, Essie L. Stanfill ; sister and brother-in-law Charles and Cathy Rauhuff ; brother and sister-in-law Chris and Rhonda Stanfill ; daughters and sons-in-law Jessi and Cliff Sharp, Dory and Matt Jordan, and son Andy Stanfill ; grandchildren Zeke and Delilah Sharp; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Special friends and caretakers throughout his battle with lung and bone cancer are Mike Rice, Robin Wilson, and Tracie (Rose) Brandon, all of North Carolina. Memorial services were held Monday, April 30th and the family has requested that in lieu of flowers, memorials can be sent to the SECU Hospice Home in Smithfield, NC.
