Mr. David William Kropff , age 78, of Parrottsville, passed away Monday evening, May 9, 2016 at his home.
Mr. Kropff was born in Parrottsville and moved to Florida in 1945 where he grew up and attended school. After school he joined the City of Hialeah Fire Department and served for 21 years as an EMT. He retired in 1985 and moved back to Parrottsville. David was a wonderful husband for 59 years, father, grandfather and great grandfather who would do anything for family and friends. He kept busy with home remodeling jobs and volunteering at the animal shelter. He was a member of the Newport Riding Club. David was of the Baptist faith and served his church faithfully until he passed.
He was preceded in death by his son David Alan Kropff , parents Ralph and Evelyn Kropff .
Survivors include his wife Joan Kropff of the home; son Tim Kropff of Gainesville, Fl; daughter Susan Kropff Miller of Parrottsville; grandchildren Christna Kropff -Wallen, William Kropff , Codie Miller (Cory) Holloway, Amanda Kropff and Timmy Kropff ;
3 great grandchildren; brothers Larry Alan (Ann) Kropff of Chattanooga, Doyle (Betty) Kropff of Melbourne, Fl, Neal (Sue) Kropff of Hialeah, Fl. Additional survivors include several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The family would like to thank Smoky Mountain Home Health and Hospice for all their help and compassion. They are wonderful people.
A celebration of David's life will be held 2:00 pm Sunday, July 3, 2016 at the Kropff residence in Parrottsville.
