Susan Carol Brooks , 55 , of Newport , went to be with her Lord on March 28 , 2006 . She was a secretary by trade and a member of West End Tabernacle. Mrs. Brooks was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Brooks ; one brother, Jeffery Campbell; and nephew, Phillip Wayne Shropshire. She is survived by her parents, Earl and Jerusha Reece Campbell; children, Benjamin Joel Brooks , of Newport , and Michael and daughter-in-law, Bridgette Brooks , of Newport ; sister, Yuvonda and brother-in-law, Ernest Seal, of Newport ; brother, David, and sister-in-law, Pamela Campbell, of Newport ; and grandchild, Mason Kelly Brooks . Susan will also be sadly missed by her special nephew, Franklin Douglas Shropshire; special friend, Ledford Dockery; her lifelong friends, Linda Hartsell Chesteen and Diane Jones Shaver; her special aunt, Linda Bible; several nieces and nephews and a host of friends. The family will receive friends Thursday, March 30, 2006 , from 6-8 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, March 30, 2006 , at 8:00 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Tim Rice officiating. A graveside service will be held Friday, March 31, 2006 , at 1:00 p.m. at Clark Cemetery (Deep Gap). Brown Funeral Home has been honored to provide the final arrangements for Mrs. Susan Carol Brooks.
