Olin Gordon Proffitt - age 81 of Lenoir City passed away Friday, June 1, 2012 at Baptist Health Care Center. He is a member of Hines Valley Baptist Church. Served in the United States Marine Corp. He was a member of DAV Lenoir City Post #109 and Teamster Local #519. Retired from Y-12 Machine Shop. He is preceded in death by parents, Arthur and Berthana Proffitt and brother, Charles Hugh Proffitt. Survived by his wife, Catherine Byrum Proffitt; daughter, Pamela Burchfield and husband, Michael of Lenoir City; granddaughters, Heather Burley and husband, Brandon, Stephanie Coleman and husband, Matthew; step children: William Dexter Robinson, Betty Sue Givens and husband, Tommy, and Donna Catlett and husband, Tony; sister, Shirley Anderson and husband, Milas; brother, Rex Proffitt and wife, Louise of NC; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Sunday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Click Funeral Home in Lenoir City. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Monday in the Click Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Glen Gamble Officiating. Burial will follow at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery with full military honors conferred by the Loudon County Honor Guard. Click Funeral Home in Lenoir City is charge of arrangements.
