(April 27, 1915 - January 3, 2008)
Wilma Cope Williamson was born April 27, 1915 at Elkmont and spent most of her childhood at Tremont. She loved the mountains and was most happy when her son, Ted could drive her to Cades Cove once a week. On January 3, 2008, she left her pain-filled body for a new body in her heavenly home, where she had a glad reunion with her husband, Rev. Tommy Williamson; son, Ted; infant son, Don; and grandson, Gene. Others there to welcome her were parents, Fred and Dora Cope, brothers, Paul, Charles, and Don; sisters Edith Fox and Flo Bush. Left to miss her laughter is daughter, Sue Parker, sons and daughters-in-law, Max and Frances, Kit and Diane, and Ray and Lorene; daughter-in-law Peggy Williamson. She also leaves to mourn her passing: brothers, Rev. Wayne Cope, Dwight, and Fred; sister, Jean Sexton. Wilma loved greatly the ten grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandson. She leaves a host of in-laws, who loved her like a sister as well as nieces and nephews who will cherish their memory of Aunt Wilma. A special thanks to her caregivers with whom she shared her love of crocheting, Barbara Weber and Alonda Cutshaw. With special friend Melanie Knouff, she shared her love of animals. She loved to read and shared that joy with those to whom she could give books. In honor of her great faith, donations may be made to Piney Grove Church Building fund, 536 Blockhouse Rd. Maryville, TN 37803. A celebration of her life will be held Friday, January 4, 2008 at Miller Funeral Home Magnolia Chapel, Rev. Adrian Jones officiating. Interment will be held 10:00 AM Saturday, January 5, 2008 at Centenary Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Friday at Miller Funeral Home, Maryville. He healed the sick and raised the dead He wore a thorn crown on his head. He paid the price for you and me, That we might be with Him thru eternity.
