Originally from Knoxville, Tennessee, he was a graduate of Young High School, 1949. He had lived in Smyrna, Georgia since 1961. Mr. Townsend was retired from J. P. Morgan Chase. Survivors He is survived by his wife , Dean Townsend; son, Chip Townsend and his wife Laura; son, Greg Townsend; grandchildren, Carla, Stephen, and Britt; brother, Shirley Townsend and his wife Millie; and many nieces and nephews. Service The family will receive friends Tuesday, May 5 from 6 to 8 o’clock at Berry Funeral Home, 3704 Chapman Hwy, Knoxville, Tennessee 37920. (865) 577-6666. Graveside service will be at Woodlawn Cemetery on Wednesday, May 6 at 3:00.
