He was a member of Black Oak Heights Baptist Church and was blessed with a ministry of helping others. He was preceded in death by parents, William Crockett Ellis , Letha Ellis , and step mother, Rosalie Ellis brothers, Arvil Ellis , Carl Ellis , Donald Ellis , and Amos Ellis sisters, Bonnie Ottinger and Betty Ellis . He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Margie Patterson Ellis his children, Steve Ellis , Michael Ellis , Ricky Ellis and his wife, Kathy, Vicki Carr and Greg Ellis his brothers, Jerry Ellis and Robert Ellis and his wife, Mary Nell his sister, Barbara Keck his grandchildren, Kella Lowery, Josh Carr, Aaron Ellis and his wife, Rachel, Adam Ellis , Wesley Howard, and Tori Howard his great-grandchildren, Kristen, Leanna, and Shayna, and several nieces and nephews.
