Mass of Christian Burial for George Leonard Munde, 82, Norman, will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Celebrant will be the Rev. Ernest Flusche. Private burial will be held at St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery with Mayes Funeral Directors in charge of arrangements. There will be no public visitation at the funeral home and the burial will be private.
He was born Oct 15, 1915 in Providence, R. I. to George and Bertha Desson Munde. After graduating high school he attended Brown University and received his B. S. degree from the University of Oklahoma. He moved to Norman in 1937 from Providence and was employed as a civil engineer and registered surveyor and worked for Poe and Associates.
He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, the Elks Lodge, the American Legion and the 40 et 8. He served on the State Board of Directors for the Cerebral Palsy Institute, now the J. D. McCarty Center for Children with Developmental Disabilities. He served in the United States Navy during World War II.
He was preceded in death by his wife Zelda, his parents and two brothers.
He is survived by three sons, Michael Munde of Fla., Jeff Munde of Moore, and Alan Munde of Levelland, Texas; his daughter Gail Greenville of N. C. four grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
