CARNES , EUGENIA SUE THAMES - age 57, of Maryville, passed away Thursday, March 8, 2001, at Blount Memorial Hospital. She was a member of Alcoa First United Methodist Church, and was a retired Blount County School Teacher, with 32 years of service. She was preceded in death by her father, Clarence Thames . Survivors include husband, Don L. Carnes of Maryville; daughter, Saundra Wilson of Knoxville; mother, Mary Sue Waters Thames of Maryville; stepson and wife, Richard and Yvonne Carnes of Townsend; grandchildren, Halli Carnes and Braden Carnes ; sister, Elizabeth Holland of New York, N.Y.; sister and brother-in-law, Virginia and Richard Dodson of Fredericksburg, Va.; sister-in-law and husband, Kay Myers and Jim Myers of Maryville; niece, Shayna Myers; niece and husband, Jessica and Thom Maurer of Los Angeles, Calif.; nephews, William Dodson and Alexander Dodson, both of Fredericksburg, Va.; several aunts, uncles, and cousins. Funeral services will be held at 8 p.m. Fri. in McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ken Green officiating. Family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Fri. at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home, Maryville.
