Harold Edward Hance, age 58 of Newport, went home to be with Jesus following a lengthy illness. He loved fishing and sports, but he was best known as an umpire for Newport Parks and Recreation. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Dennies and Thad Teague and Allen and Allie Hance; father, Ralph Hance; and granddaughter, Mattalynn Naillon. He is survived by his mother Mary Lee Hance of Newport; daugthers, Chalina Hance (Will Salmon) and Leahla Hance (Cody Naillon); sisters, Sharon Ball (Willis) and Patty Rodriguez (Louis); brother, Joker Hance (Sonya); aunt, Mary Kate Pack; uncle, Charles Teague; several nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews; he had a special relationship with two great-nephews, Sid and Leland Lane whom he loved very much. Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm on Sunday, March 6, 2016 in the Manes Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jimmy Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Resthaven Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 5:00-8:00 pm on Saturday, March 5, 2016 at Manes Funeral Home. Family and friends may sign the guest register online at www.manesfuneralhome.com.
