William McKinley Huskey, age 88, of Huskey Place, Lenoir, passed away peacefully at Hickory Falls Health and Rehab on Thursday, June 18, 2015. He was born August 17, 1926 in Montgomery County, Virginia to the late Milas M. and Bertie Susanne Pritchard Huskey. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Clara Mae Huskey; and two brothers, Paul Huskey and Ernest Huskey. Mr. Huskey was retired from Bernhardt Furniture Industries and was a member and deacon of Confidence Advent Christian Church. He was a Scoutmaster for Troop 258 at Mt. Olivet Methodist Church and was a former member of Collettsville Ruritan Club. Survivors include three sons, Steven Huskey and wife Rebecca of Greenville, SC, Barry Huskey and wife Kim of Hickory and Jeffrey Huskey and wife Jane of Lenoir; four sisters, Josephine Baker and husband Wayne of Hudson, Delores Younce of Gamewell, Idell Good of Lenoir and Marvene Huskey of Hickory; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 20, 2015 at 4:00 P.M. at Confidence Advent Christian Church conducted by Rev. Norm Sherwood. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 3:00 to 4:00 P.M. one hour prior to the service at the church. Serving as pallbearers will be family and friends.
