July 9, 1935 - April 14, 2015 Creed Junior Huskey, 79, of Granite Falls passed away Tuesday, April 14, 2015 at his residence. Mr. Huskey was born in Monroe County, TN to the late Jess Huskey and Jessie Moore Huskey. He was retired from Davis Wood Products. He was a prankster, loved to fish, shop thrift stores for antiques and loved good country cooking. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Louise Hamby Huskey; his brothers, Gene Harley Huskey, J D Huskey, David Clinton Huskey and a sister; Shirley Pritchard. Those left to cherish his memory are his son Melvin Creed Huskey and wife Debbie of Lenoir; his daughter, Glenda Huskey Goble and husband Jerry of Granite Falls; his brother, Ed Huskey and wife Barbara of Baton; his sisters, Helen Antonio of Lenoir and Patsy Huskey of Hickory, his grandchildren, Shaun Huskey of Lenoir and Sareatha McNeil and husband John of Hudson, his great grandchildren, Tabatha, Samantha and Samara McNeil all of Hudson. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, April 21, 2015 in Pendry's Chapel at 3:00 p.m. with Reverend David McNeil officiating. Burial will follow the service at Mount Carmel Baptist Church. The family will receive friends Monday, April 20, 2015 at Pendry's Lenoir Funeral Home from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Serving as pallbearers will be John McNeil, Darren Huskey, Brandon Antwhistle, Tim Robbins, Derrick Goble and George Cleary. The family wishes to thank Sabrina Eldridge and Katrina Brittain for the support and care given to Creed and his family during his illness. The family respectfully requests that memorials be made to Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care, 902 Kirkwood Street, Lenoir, NC 28645.
