Born Aug. 13, 1944, in Maryville, Tenn., J.D. was a son of the late Jesse Earnest and Jessie Hazel Moore Huskey . J.D. worked as a molder operator in the furniture industry for many years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a carpenter and enjoyed building things. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Danny Ray Huskey ; and several brothers. Survivors include his wife, Juanita Tripplett Huskey of the Home; two daughters and a son-in-law, Pamela Meadows of Lenoir, and Donna Kay and Larry Guy of Hudson; five grandchildren, five grandchildren, Gabriel Lee Jones, Samantha Jeanette Jones, Brent Jordan Guy, Joshua Ray Huskey and Amanda Kay Bumgarner; he also is survived by three sisters, three brothers, nine grandchildren and numerous other relatives. A graveside celebration of J.D. 's life will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, July 18, 2011 , at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens with Pastor Johnny Creech officiating. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 6 until 8 p.m. at the residence. Memorials can be made to Caldwell Hospice & Palliative Care at 902 Kirkwood St., Lenoir, NC 28645.
