James Boice McCarter, 79, of Meadow Fork, passed away Monday, January 2, 2012 in Burke County. Mr. McCarter was born July 23, 1932 in Madison County. He was a member of Meadow Fork Baptist Church. Boice was preceded in death by his parents, Willie Russell and Artie Ramsey McCarter; his sisters, Vertie and Vola McCarter, Alice McCarter Roberts; brothers, Elijah, Grady, Gene and Carl McCarter. Surviving are his brother, Ray McCarter of Valdese; sister, Emma Ruth McCarter of the residence in Meadow Fork; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, great-great nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held at 12 noon Thursday, January 5, 2012 in the chapel of Madison Funeral Home with the Reverend Jimmy Moore officiating. Burial will follow in Meadow Fork Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 12 noon on Thursday at the funeral home. [S147] Find a Grave, (Memorial: 83389160).
