Mrs. Angelia Michelle Spurgeon Black , age 40 , of Newport , passed away Monday evening , December 21 , 2015 at Morristown Hamblen Hospital .
She was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Arola Spurgeon and Cleona and Beulah Hooper.
Survivors include her husband, Jerry Black of the home; father, Nicky Spurgeon of Cosby; mother, Janette Braley of Newport and brother, Josh (Whitney) Spurgeon of Sevierville. Additional survivors include two nieces, three nephews and several cousins and friends.
The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, December 26, 2015 , at Macedonia Baptist Church with Pastor J.L. Jones officiating. Interment will be in Union Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. Saturday at the church prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to help cover the final expense.
