Ogle, Herbert Louis ---Louisville, TN---born August 4, 1933 in Gatlinburg, Tennessee, died December 25, 2012 at Blount Memorial Hospital, surrounded by his loving family and friends. He is survived by wife, Beverly Ogle; brother Calvin Lynn (Roberta) Ogle, Greenville, SC; daughters Kathy (Morty) Goodfriend, Knoxville, Tracy (Bob) Gormley, Louisville, and Beverly Ogle Grant, Maryville; stepsons Scott Wells, Hong Kong, and Heath (Danica) Myrick, Knoxville; stepdaughter Teshia (Michael) Ford, Franklin; 14 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild. Preceded in death by brother Van Dail Ogle, parents Elder Monroe and Lula Mae McCarter Ogle, sister Harmo Lou Ogle, grandson Ethan Michael Goodfriend, and faithful companion, Laddie. Herb was a graduate of Pi Beta Phi High School in Gatlinburg, and the University of Tennessee. A lifelong Certified Public Accountant, he remained active on the board of the Tennessee Society of Certified Public Accountants and was named Outstanding CPA in Business and Industry in 2006. He spent more than two decades with Proffitt's Department Stores, and was chief financial officer for Sampson Enterprises from 1987 to 2011. Herb loved boating, dancing, sharing his house on the lake, and shooting sporting clays (although he could never kill any living thing), but most of all loved his family. He was an amazing father, grandfather, husband, uncle, brother, and friend, and has left a lasting legacy of love and generosity to serve as a guide for those of us left behind. A memorial service will be held at First United Methodist Church of Maryville at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, January 6, 2013, with receiving of friends following the service.
