She was born on February 1, 1951 in Kaufman to Charlie Huston Doss & Helen (Elston) Doss . Carolyn graduated from Kemp High School in 1969 and East Texas State University in 1975. She married Strike Franklin on June 6, 1969 in Kemp. After graduating from college, Carolyn taught school in Malakoff, Kemp, Baytown Sterling, Slidell, Princeton, and currently at Campbell . She taught English and Theater Arts, but it was not what she taught, it was how she taught. Carolyn had an excitement for teaching her students and could use her passion to bring out of them, what no other could. She will be missed by all who knew her. Carolyn is preceded in death by her grandparents, Lint & Blanche Elston and Charlie & Annie Doss ; sister- in -law Georgia Stastny, nephew Jeremy Doss and Uncle Raymond Doss . She is survived by; her husband, Strike Franklin of Campbell ; parents Charlie & Helen Doss of Kemp; father- in -law & mother- in -law, George & Maxine Franklin of Campbell ; three daughters & son- in -laws, Jennifer & Brad Watts, Stacy & David Turkoly & Carrie & Brady Beard all of Sanger; brother & sister- in -law, Doug & Lisa Doss of Kaufman; brother- in -law & sister- in -law, Archie & Kim Franklin of Sanger; brother- in -law, Bob Stastny of Slidell; and her eight very loved grandchildren, K'Leigh & Brance Watts; Morgan, Maci & McKenzie Turkoly and Britton, Barrett & Baylor Beard and numerous nieces, nephews and other family members. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, December 10 at the First Baptist Church in Slidell. Life Celebration Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 11, 2008 at the First Baptist Church in Slidell, with John Payne & Stephen Howard officiating.
