HEMBREE, HOWELL JAMES - 81, of Oak Ridge, died Thursday, February 25, 1999 at Fort Sanders Regional Hospital in Knoxville. He was a member of Tuckaleechee Primitive Baptist Church. He served a short time in The Army in World War II before receiving a medical discharge. He retired from The City of Oak Ridge in 1979.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Dorothy Sullivan Hembree; daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Lynn Shuler; grandson, Travis Shuler, all of Oak Ridge; brothers and sisters-in-law, Thannah Hembree and Edna Trentham, both of Townsend, Paul Hembree of Walland, Lucy and Ray Huskey of Maryville, Ruth Hembree of Kingston; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 8:00 p.m. Sunday at Memorial Funeral Home in Maryville with Rev. Kenneth Sullivan officiating.
Family and friends will meet at 1:00 p.m. Monday at Oak Ridge Memorial Park for a graveside service. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorial Funeral Home, Maryville in charge of arrangements.
