Deloris "Dee" Henry Thompson, age 80, went to be with her heavenly father, Saturday, January 23, 2016, at Blount Memorial Hospital. She was born August 17, 1935 to John B. and Missouri B. Scarbrough Henry. She was the youngest daughter of 8 siblings. She was a member of Alcoa-Maryville Church of God but in recent years attended Mt. Sinai Baptist Church. Dee was a kind and loving person who always made everyone smile and you never left her presence without a hug. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 49 years, Harold Thompson; sisters, Jewel Gentry, Doris Nelson, infant Alma Henry; brothers, Lester, J. D., Bobby and Carl Henry; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Hubert and Tina Reba Thompson; brothers-in-law, Clarence and Billy Thompson.
Survivors include her sister, Nancy Goldie Hawk; daughters and sons-in-law, Cathy and Alvis Wilson, Jr., Donna and Jey Rhodes, Teresa and David Conners, Crystal and Chris Daugherty; grandchildren, Meredith Wilson and fiancé, Michael White, Kristina Rhodes and fiancé, Ian Frazier, Jeffrey Rhodes, Rachael and Madeline Shipe, Chloe and Chandler Daugherty; great grandchildren, Aiden Dutcher and Madison White; brother-in-law, Jimmy Thompson; special nieces, Earlene McGuffey, Melissa Post, Sandy Hawk and Anita Russell; and many other nieces and nephews; special grand pets, Sadie and Jack.
Funeral services will be at 7:00 p.m. Thursday at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home with Rev. Grayson Garrett and Rev. Herschell "Dickie" Baker officiating. The interment service will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday at Grandview Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 5-7:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
