U.S. Veteran His Lord said unto him, well done, good and faithful servant; thou has been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things; enter thou unto the joy of the Lord. Matthew 25:23 Joseph A. (J.A.) Lewis a loving husband and father passed away on Friday, March 6th. Mr. Lewis was a veteran of the United States Army. He was a faithful member of Dutch Bottoms Baptist Church for over 40 years, ordained as deacon in 1977. He was also Sunday School Superintendent and song leader as long as his health permitted. He retired from Great Lakes Chemicals as a maintenance supervisor having been there over 30 years. Preceding him in death was his daughter, Karen Denise (Lewis) and her husband, Ralph Crittenden, mother and father, Charlie and Dora Lewis; brothers, Bill, Lincoln, Cecil, and Bob Lewis; sisters, Retha Clark, Billie Shepherd, Dorothy, Gladys and Margaret Lewis. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Bonnie Wallin Lewis; son, Steven A. Lewis and wife, Lisa; several nieces and nephews and friends too numerous to mention. Family will receive friends on Sunday evening at Manes Funeral Home chapel from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm with services following at 8:00 pm with Rev. Barry Warren, Rev. Manson Lee and Rev. Ron Ball officiating. Entombment will be at Resthaven Memorial Mausoleum at 1:00 pm Monday. Family and friends may sign the guest register online at www.manesfuneralhome.com.
