He was born October 3, 1917 in Cades Cove. He was a member of the C. C. C. (Civilian Conservation Corps) Company 1458 in 1933. He was retired from Alcoa Aluminum Company with 34 years of service and a member of the 25 Year Club. He was an exceptional Dad. He was preceded in death by his, parents William J. and Mary Elizabeth Wilcox Gregory; daughter, Shirley Lee Gregory; and several brothers and sisters. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Agnes Alma Keeler Gregory; son, Larry D. Gregory; daughter, Teresa Headrick and husband Dickie; grandchildren, Dewayne Gregory, Michael Gregory, Angel Gregory, Kristen Hawks, Candace Headrick, Jonny Headrick, Ronnie Whitehead, Marty Whitehead, and Michelle Whitehead; great grandchildren, Tori Headrick and Shane Whitehead; brothers and sisters, William “Jay” Gregory, Mary Young, and Pat Mullin; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, September 21, 2006 at Miller Funeral Home Cedar Chapel with the interment to follow at Dotson Memorial Cemetery, Rev. Johnny Davis officiating.
