Danny Gene Oakley, 68, of Sevierville passed away on Saturday, December 24, 2016. He was born February 4, 1948 in Sevier County. Danny served honorably in the United States Navy. He was employed with Oakmont Resort for 31 years as Maintenance Manager. Danny was one of a kind. He enjoyed making moonshine and building towering bon fires. Danny was a saved Christian and this Christmas he received the greatest gift of all; to be present in the light of our Lord and to be reunited with his son, Jason, after sixteen years.
He was preceded in death by his son, Jason Noah Oakley; father, Eugene Oakley; and mother, Dorothy P. Ogle.
Danny is survived by his wife of 47 years, Diana Oakley; daughter, Alyisa D. Oakley; grandchildren, Colby W. Smith, Steven, Bobby, Charles, and Jerica Brackins; brother, Tommy Oakley and wife, Becky; sisters, Clara Howe and husband, Archie, Sue Nipper and husband, Oscar; father and mother-in-law, Hugh and Evelyn Watson; sisters-in-law and their spouses, Pam Jo and Donal Parz, Vickie and Stacey Adams, and Rhonda Kearns; brothers-in-law and their spouses, Mike and Lisa Watson, David and Becky Watson, Nathan and Teresa Watson, Mark Watson, and Glenn Keith; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at Atchley Funeral Home, Sevierville.
