God has chosen his newest angel, Ricky Darrell Hance was welcomed into his heavenly home on Tuesday, December 29, 2015. Ricky was born in Newport, Tennessee on July 16, 1957 and lived there all his life except several years in Gaston County, North Carolina. He was employed by Timbertop Resorts in Sevier County until his illness caused him to leave. He was preceded in death by his father, James Clinton Hance and brother, Randy Dewayne Hance. He is survived by his fiancé whom he loved dearly, Pam Bryan Ogle; daughter the joy of his life, Angel Nicole Jones; mother, Betty Montgomery of Gastonia, North Carolina; sisters, Betsy Stinnett of Sevierville, Karen (Steve) Aldridge of Gastonia, North Carolina, Melissa (Ricky) Kirkland of Belmont, North Carolina, Donna (Bobby) Dunn, and Patricia Cody all of Newport; several nieces, nephews, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He appreciated all the love and support given to him and his family during his illness. A special “thank you” to the physicians, nurses, and staff at Le Conte Medical Center for their love and care, and to all our family and friends for their love and support. Ricky will be laid to rest at Lawson’s Chapel Church Cemetery on Indian Creek Road in Jefferson County. Graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, January 1, 2016 with Rev. Tom Shelton officiating. All family members and friends are invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, we ask that you contribute to his funeral expenses, any remaining portion will be donated to the cemetery maintenance fund.
