He was a U.S. Marine and a combat veteran having served in Vietnam. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Leona Burnette; nephew, Tommy Lyon; and great-nephew, Taylor Bush. Survivors: Brother: Ken Burnette and wife Shirley Sister: Sharon Lasley and husband Barry Several nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews Special canine friend: Dog Mona Funeral service 7 PM Monday at Central Point Baptist Church with Pastor Chris Cupp officiating. Graveside service with interment to follow 1:30 PM Tuesday in the Rotundra at East TN Veterans Cemetery (John Sevier Hwy). Military honors provided by American Legion Post No. 104.
