(June 3, 1956 - December 20, 2015) Sharon Marie Strange, age 59, of Newport went to be with the Lord peacefully after a battle with cancer on December 20, 2015. She had a great attitude with her illness always expecting the best with the help of the Lord. She was a long time member of Dutch Bottoms Baptist Church, sitting on the hillside overlooking the lake with its beautiful sunsets. She sang in the Church Choir, as well with the Strange Family Singers. She will be remembered for the love of people, always trying to help others to help have a better life. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Ruth Stuart Strange; brother, Dale Strange, who was a great piano player. She is survived by her sister, Rita Hance; brothers, Marvin Strange and wife Jo Ann, Tony Strange, all of Newport; nieces, Harley Ramsey and Ashley Strange; nephews, Curtis Hance, Cory Strange and wife Christine; her loving Jack Russel “Daisy”; friends, Clyde lane, Phyllis Scott, Dorothy Howard, Edna Samples, Imogene McMahan; and a host of other family and friends. Funeral service will be held at 7:00 pm Monday, December 21, 2015 at Manes Funeral Home West Chapel with Brother Josh Black and Brother Bobby Samples officiating. Burial will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, December 22, 2015 in Dutch Bottoms Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm Monday at Manes Funeral Home West Chapel prior to funeral service.
