TIPTON, Carson Melvin, age 80 of Walland, passed away Friday, June 21, 2002, at Blount Memorial Hospital. He was a member and Deacon of Oak View Baptist Church, was a veteran of World War II having served in the U. S. Army Air Corps, was a member of the Rockford Masonic Lodge # 469, was retired from ALCOA after 40 years of service and was a member of the ALCOA 25 Year Service Club. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mike H. and Mary Tipton.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Ina Huskey Tipton; sons and daughters-in-law, Kenneth and Monica Tipton and Carson and Terry Tipton all of Walland; grandsons and granddaughter, Chad and Heather Tipton of Maryville, Matthew Tipton, Blake Tipton and Chase Tipton all of Walland; sisters and brothers-in-law, Gladys and Clifford Reed, Eunice and W. T. Reed all of Maryville; sister, Grace Boling of Maryville; brothers and sisters-in-law, Mike and Thelma Tipton of Maryville, Bruce and Sue Tipton of Florida; brother, Hugh Tipton of Indiana; several nieces and nephews.
A masonic service will be held at 8:00 p.m. Saturday in McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home Chapel followed by funeral services with Rev. Glenn Gamble and Rev. George Macht officiating. Family and friends will meet at 2:00 p.m. Sunday at Oak View Baptist Church Cemetery for the interment service.
The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m. Saturday at McCammon-Ammons-Click
