Eugene Ephriam Huskey, age 89, of Seymour, passed away Tuesday, May 27, 2008 at the Ben Atchley Tennessee State Veteran’s Home in Knoxville. Mr. Huskey was born in Elkmont, TN on September 18, 1918. He was a faithful member of Grace Baptist Church of Seymour, where he served as a trustee, Adult Disciplinary Training Director, and a member of the choir. He enjoyed singing in the choir, Bible study, and attending the pastor’s conference in Sevier County. He enjoyed a long retirement from National Cash Register Company of Dayton, Ohio. He enjoyed fishing and traveling and took great pride in caring for his lawn and feeding birds. He was a veteran of the United States Army. He served as a heavy truck driver in the 877th Ordinance Heavy Equipment Maintenance Company during World War II. He served in Northern France, Normandy, the Rhineland, and Central Europe during the war.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Gladys Hart Huskey, parents, Luther and Emma Trentham Huskey, brother, Burl Huskey, sisters, Nellie Lock and Blanche Rouks, brothers-in-law, Rev. Don Lock, Clyde Huskey, Carson Tipton, and Herbert Hatfield.

Daughter and son-in-law: Jenyth and Bob Barnes of Seymour
Granddaughters: Rosalinde McGhee and Nancy Morris
Sons-in-law: Kevin McGhee and Randy Morris
Great grandchildren: Caleb, Alex, Brandon, and Caroline, all of Seymour.

Funeral service 7 PM Thursday at Grace Baptist Church with Rev. Ed Cloud and Ernest Condie officiating. Family and friends will meet Friday at 10:30 AM at Oak View Baptist Cemetery located at 2704 Ellejoy Rd., Walland, TN for graveside service and interment with military honors provided by American Legion Post 104.
