PAYNE , MARTIN DAVID - age 35 of Maryville, TN passed away suddenly Thursday, March 25, 2005 after being air-lifted by Lifestar to Vanderbilt Heart Center. He was a long-time member of Bartlett Baptist Church, Memphis, TN and a graduate of Barlett High School. He attended the University of Memphis and Hiwassee College in Madisonville, TN where he played on the Varsity Basketball team. Martin was an avid fisherman and was the founder and original owner of Little River Outfitters in Townsend, TN. Preceded in death by: great-grandparents, Joe & Lillian Myers and Willie & Julia Sullivan all of Townsend, TN grandparents, Charles & Lucinda Payne of Fountain City, TN and Roy Sullivan of Townsend, TN. Survivors include: parents, David & Judy Payne of Townsend, TN sister, Amy Kane & husband Earl & nephew Ian of Daphne, AL grandmother, Betty Sullivan of Townsend aunts and uncles, Helen & Huette Perkins and Jean & Jerry Sullivan all of Townsend, Julie Payne , Mackie Payne , Gene & Jean Payne all of Fountain City, TN several cousins and other close friends fiancé, Criss Phillips & her children, Haley, Abbi, & Angel all of Maryville special friends, Scott Eddins, Big Jon Quihones both of Maryville, Keith Rhodes of Nashville. Funeral service will be at 7:30 pm, Monday, March 28, 2005 in the Trinity Chapel of Smith Mortuary with Rev. Ken Abbott officiating. Family and friends will assemble at 11:00 am, Tuesday, March 29, 2005 at Grandview Cemetery for the entombment.
