U.S. Veteran William Ross Morefield, age 68, of Newport passed away, Saturday, November 28, 2015 at Lakeway Regional Hospital. He was a veteran having served in the United States Marine Corps. He was preceded in death by his father, Ross Morefield; and brother-in-law, Larry Gregg. He is survived by his wife Marie Morefield of Newport; son, William (Bill) Morefield, Jr. of Morristown; mother, Beatrice (Bea) Morefield of Newport; sister, Diane Gregg of White Pine; sister-in-law, Wanda Brooks of Newport; brother-in-law, John Brooks of Greeneville; also several nieces, nephews and other family and friends. Funeral services will be held 7:00 pm Monday, November 30, 3015 in Manes Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Leon Large officiating. Burial will be held 11:00 am Tuesday, December 1, 2015 in Resthaven Memorial Mausoleum. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm Monday at Manes Funeral Home prior to the funeral service.
