BORING, MARCUS EDMOND (ED), age 83, of Maryville, went to be with our Lord Mon., Apr. 3, 2000 at Blount Memorial Hospital. He was the son of Cordie Ann Myers Boring & a native of Cades Cove. Mr. Boring was a veteran of WWII serving in the Air Corps, 310th Division where he flew 70 combat missions over North Africa. He retired with 35 years from the U.S. Post Office & was a member of First Baptist Church of Maryville. Survivors included: wife, Betty Baker Boring of Maryville; 2 daughters, Linda Whitehead of Maryville, Pat Morefield of Mountain City; son, Mark Boring of Maryville; 5 sisters; 2 brothers; 6 grandchildren; 1 great-grandson. The family will receive friends from 2-3:30 Tues., Apr. 4, 2000 in the West Chapel of Smith Mortuary . Funeral will be at 3:30 p.m. with interment at Grandview Cemetery in Maryville. Services will be held by Dr. John Franklin & Rev. Greg Long. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Knoxville Area Rescue Mission, 418 N. Broadway, Knoxville, TN 37917.
