Olin Houston Sr., 66, of Brookville died Sunday, Nov. 11, 2007, at his residence.
Born April 19, 1941, in Laurel Creek, Ky., he was the son of the late Denver Colson and Letta (Ball) Houston.
He moved to Franklin County at an early age, and lived much of his life there. On Oct. 30, 1960, he was united in marriage to Sandra Stephen, and she survives. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather, and loved the Lord with all his heart. He was a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church.
In addition to Sandra, his wife of 47 years, survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Joyce and Ray Steele of Connersville and Carletta and Jeff Voegele of Noblesville, Ind.; four sons and daughters-in-law, Olin Jr. and Marcy Houston of Orange, Denver and Pamela Houston of Arizona City, Ariz., Howard and Tammy Houston of Warsaw, Ky., and Rickie and Tina Houston of Indianapolis; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Phyllis and Ed Ison of Brookville, Lucille and Norman Crain of Greensburg, Ind., Georgia and Elmer Harrison of Brookville; two brothers, John R. Houston of Arizona City, Ariz., and Sam and Bev Houston of Brookville; 13 grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews.
The Rev. Rob Edwards and Kenny Grimes will officiate the funeral services Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Phillips & Meyers Funeral Home, 1025 Franklin Ave., Brookville. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery in Brookville. Family and friends may visit from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
