Sara Elizabeth Dixon, 90, of 613 Gilliam Road, Hendersonville, formerly of Asheville, died Saturday, Feb. 19, 2000, in a Hendersonville hospital. A native of Atlanta, Ga., Mrs. Dixon was the daughter of the late Davis Robert and Esta Lena Hudson Twyman. She was married for 64 years to Samuel Walter Dixon, who died in 1995, and was also preceded in death by a daughter, Patricia Johnson. She was a member of Starnes Cove Baptist Church. She is survived by two daughters, Barbara Ingle of Hendersonville and Roma Tandy of Saluda three sons, Walt Dixon of Knoxville, Tenn., Robert Dixon of Moultrie, Ga., and Douglas Dixon of Asheville 15 grandchildren 14 great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be at noon Monday in Pisgah View Memorial Park with the Rev. Charlie Sams officiating. Her family will receive friends from 11 to 11:45 a.m. Monday at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue. Memorials may be made to Starnes Cove Baptist Church, 149 Starnes Cove Road, Asheville, N.C. 28806.
