POCATELLO - Floyd B. Perry, 82, beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, joined his mother, father, sisters and brothers on Sunday, Sept. 25, 2005. He was born Feb. 5, 1923, in Gooding, Idaho, to John A. Perry and Cordie E. Reagan, and resided in Camas Prairie until he graduated from high school. He then learned to be a welder in Weiser, Idaho, and went to work in the shipyards in Portland, Ore. Floyd was drafted into the Army in 1942, and was sent to Fort Lewis, Wash. From there he was stationed at Fort Knox, Ky, where he met and married the love of his life, Fern Baxter. In 1945 he served in the Philippines and was sent home as a sergeant. Floyd and his family lived in Wendell, Idaho, until he became employed at Simplot in Pocatello, Idaho. He left Simplot and became a 34-year maintenance department employee at FMC, retiring in 1988. He and Fern moved to Louisville, Ky, for a short time, then returned to Pocatello. As a mechanic, Floyd worked on everyone's cars at one time or another. He enjoyed bowling, playing pinochle, camping in his motor home and mechanics. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family. Floyd is survived by his wife, Fern; son, David (Judy) Perry; three daughters, Gail Wilson, Sheryl (Don) Pline, Toni (Pete) Reisner; he also raised two grandsons, Danny Bosquez and Damon Bosquez; and one niece, Snook Edwards. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Dale (Leona) Perry, Lloyd Perry, Dee (Billie) Perry and two sisters, Elaine (Verl) Dixon and Joyce Collins. Funeral services for Floyd will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 1, 2005, at the Colonial Funeral Chapel, 2005 S. Fourth Avenue, with military rites provided by the Pocatello Veterans Honor Guard. A viewing will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 30, 2005, and one hour prior to the services on Saturday. Cremation will follow services on Saturday.
