Veta Barlow Bowie, 56, died Saturday, July 29, 2006. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in Victory Family Church in Perryton with the Rev. Marlon Sparks officiating. Burial will be in Ochiltree Cemetery in Perryton by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd, in Amarillo. Veta was born May 19, 1950, in Shattuck, Okla. She had been a resident of the Palo Duro Nursing Home in Claude for the last nine years and will always be remembered for her smile and happy personality. She had worked as a secretary. She was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Justine Barlow; and a sister, Joy Barlow. Survivors include a daughter, Shea Barlow Buchanan of Fort Worth; a granddaughter, Channing Buchanan of Fort Worth; her stepmother, Donna Barlow of Amarillo; three brothers, D.C. Barlow and Keith Barlow, both of Midland, and Lee Barlow of Canyon; a sister, Lois Bartz of Perryton; a stepbrother, Chuck Kirby of Midview, Ariz.; a stepsister, Sandy Duck of Amarillo; and an uncle and aunt, Rex and Icel Bartel of Tulsa, Okla. The family suggests memorials be to the Multiple Sclerosis Society, 6222 Canyon Drive, Amarillo, TX 79109 or Palo Duro Nursing Home, P.O. Box 786, Claude, TX 79019.
