GRUVER - Ila Jo Ogle Hart, 73, died Saturday, Sept. 15, 2001. Services will be at 11 a.m. today in First Christian Church with the Rev. Mike Martin, pastor, and the Rev. Gary Gumfory officiating. Private family burial will be in Gruver Cemetery by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home of Spearman. Mrs. Hart was born March 11, 1928, on the family farm in Hansford County northeast of Gruver. She graduated from Gruver High School. She attended Texas Woman's University in Denton and West Texas State College in Canyon. She was a lifelong resident of Hansford County and was involved in farming and ranching. She was a partner in the Palo Duro Grain Co. She was involved in the Republican Party and was a state committee woman. In 1984 she was a member of the Electoral College that re-elected Ronald Reagan president of the United States. She served as a Gruver City Councilwoman. She was instrumental in obtaining the funds for Gruver Municipal Swimming Pool. She was preceded in death by a sister, Lola Reynolds; a brother, Ira Tomlinson; and a granddaughter, Jennifer Hart Tidwell. Survivors include a son, Jerry Hart of Morse; a daughter, Ginger Pittman of Spearman; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
