Howell - John Andrew, 47, Lincoln, died Monday (9/29/03). Born, Seminole, Texas (7/9/56) to T.J. and Faye (Tomlinson) Howell. He lived in Denver City, Texas, until he was 9 years old, when he moved to Midland, Texas, with his family, where they lived for 1½ years. The family then moved to Fargo, N.D., where John graduated from North High School in 1974.
John worked for Country Kitchen Restaurants in Fargo, N.D., Twin Falls, Idaho, and Eugene, Ore. He worked for Nickerson Farms Restaurants near Des Moines, Iowa; Adrian, Minn.; Honey Creek, Iowa; Waverly, Neb.; and Emporia, Kan. In Lincoln he worked for Miller and Paine, where he met his wife. He also worked for CoCo's and the Lincoln Regional Center, and for the last four years he was a substitute para-educator for the Lincoln Public Schools.
On Aug. 27, 1983, he married Deborah J. Warnke at Bethel Baptist Church, Lincoln, and they resided in Lincoln all of their married life.
Survivors: wife, Deborah; sons, John Edward and Aaron "A.J.," at home; mother, Faye Howell, Mitchell, S.D.; father, spouse, T.J. and Violet Howell, Lovington, N.M.; brother, sister-in-law, Thomas S. and Jolene Howell, Lincoln; sisters, brothers-in-law, Teri and Lou LoBello, Champlin, Minn., Kim and Jim Haiar, Sioux Falls, S.D.; half brother, spouse, Matt and Candace Howell, Lovington; stepsisters, spouse,Theresa and Shawn Hubbel, Des Moines, Rose Prince, Denver City, Texas; stepbrother, Mark Baxter, Houston; mother-in-law, Jeanne Warnke, Lincoln; brother-in-law, spouse, Don and Deb Warnke, Lincoln; sister-in-law, Deanna Severn, Lincoln; many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by father-in-law, Don Warnke; brother-in-law, Don Severn.
Services: 3 p.m. Thursday, Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home, 6800 S. 14th St. Pastor R.D. Fowler. Lincoln Memorial Park. Pallbearers; Kale Riley, Sean, Jason Warnke, Tom Howell, Lou LoBello, Jim Haiar. Visitation: 3-9 p.m. today, with family 6-8 p.m.; 9 a.m. until services Thursday, all at the funeral home.
