Ela Amy French, 77, 306 W. Tenth Street, Guymon, died Friday morning in Memorial Hospital in Guymon.
She was born Feb. 8, 1897 at Arapahoe and was reared in the panhandle area. She graduated from Goodwell High School and attended West Texas State College at Canyon, Tex. The family moved to Canada and filed on a claim at Meadow Lake in 1923. They lived there for a good part of their life returning to live in the Goodwell-Guymon area for the past 10 years.
Survivors include her husband, Dewey M. French of the home, one son, Travis French of Guymon, one daughter, Mrs. Rex Icel Bartel of Tulsa; 11 grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Mamie WILLIAMS of Perryton, Tex., and Mrs. Ila Clain of Gruver, Tex.,; one brother, Orval Tomlinson of Tuttle.
A daughter preceded her in death in 1960.
