Bill Ogle , 88, of Chickasha , Oklahoma, was called home by the Lord on Saturday, October 1, 2011 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Bill was born June 29, 1923 in Pocassett, Oklahoma to Lee & Effie (Hurd) Ogle . He attended school at Friend and Amber. He joined the U.S. Navy and served our country proudly. Bill was blessed with three children from his first wife, Minnie, that preceded him in death. Bill retired from Boeing Aircraft in California after 43 years of dedicated service. On December 19, 1997, he married Lucille Jackson in Tabler, Oklahoma and they started a wonderful 13 year life together. On their wedding day, Bill actually wheeled Lucille out in a wheel barrow. They made their home in Chickasha . Bill was a very "witty" man. Always had a smile and loved his wife's cooking. He enjoyed tinkering with things and could do just about anything there was to do. Bill absolutely loved Christmas and putting up the Christmas tree. He actually made the first revolving Christmas tree over 25 years ago. Bill will be remembered as a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, Christian and friend. His past times was spent with family and friends, traveling and helping people. Bill was a "giver" and believed in giving. He was a member and deacon of the Tabler Tabernacle Church in Tabler.
Survivors include his wife, Lucille of the home; 4 children: Xzan Hilbreth of Anaheim, California, Judy Byrum of Corona, California, Henry ogle of Kentucky and Noella Fox and husband, Alton of Chickasha ; 6 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; 1 brother, Terry Ogle of Lakewood, California; 1 sister, June Smart of Arizona; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many loving friends.
Bill is preceded in death by his parents, 4 brothers: Lewie, Johnny, Leon and Gale and 3 sisters: Ruth, Della and Ruby.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 A.M., Thursday, October 6, 2011 at the McRay Funeral Home Chapel in Chickasha. Bro. Bill Embry will officiate. Burial to follow in the Fairlawn Cemetery in Chickasha under the direction of Smith Funeral Home, Anadarko, Oklahoma.
Visitation will be 9:00 A.M. to 8:00 P.M., Monday - Wednesday at McRay Funeral Home and Thursday, 9:00 A.M. till service time.
