Memorial services for Charlene F. Smith, age 88, of Chickasha will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, February 17, 2015 at College Heights Baptist Church with Dr. Bryan Haynes officiating.
Charlene F. Smith was born the daughter of Loyd Hill and Ozell Rodgers Hill on July 19, 1926. She died on February 11, 2015 in Chickasha, Oklahoma. Charlene was born east of Chickasha in the Naples area, where she grew up. She married Vernon A. Smith on September 8, 1940 and became a home maker.
She lived in California while Vernon worked in the shipyards during WWII. Later they returned to the Chickasha area, where she lived until her death. She will be remembered for her devotion to her family. Charlene was a Christian and was secure in her faith.
She was preceded in death by her husband and her parents; her sister, Dollene Clark; and two grandsons, Vance Stanley and Keith Smith. Survivors include her son, Carl Smith and his wife, Ann of Chickasha; daughter, Verlene Stanley and her husband, Phil of Chickasha; grandson, Kirk Stanley of Chickasha; granddaughter, Carla Feuerborn and her husband, Eric of Chickasha; granddaughter-in-law, Joni Stanley of Shawnee; great-granddaughters, Erika Stanley of Chickasha and Hannah Stanley of Edmond; great-grandson, Ryan Feuerborn of Chickasha; as well as extended family and friends.
Private interment will take place in Rose Hill Cemetery at a later date. Services and cremation arrangements are under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
