ANDREWS Carl W., age 84, of El Reno died Monday, January 29, 1990 at Park View Hospital in El Reno. He was born June 30, 1905 at Henderson, KY, and moved to St Louis, MO at a young age. Mr. Andrews enlisted in the US Army in October of 1927 and served during WW II and the Korean Conflict. He retired with the rank of Captain on November 30, 1957, at Ft Monmouth, NJ. Mr. Andrews was also retired from civil service. He was married to his wife Ila on January 21, 1946 at Ft Worth, TX. After retirement Carl and Ila moved to Oklahoma City where they lived for a number of years. They had also lived at Alex, OK before settling in El Reno on December 1, 1978. Mr. Andrews was a member and served as Deacon Emeritus of the First Christian Church of El Reno. He was a Master Mason, and a 32nd degree Mason as well as a member of the India Shrine Temple Greeters Club. He was also a member of El Reno Elks Lodge no 743. Survivors include his wife, Ila Ogle Andrews of the home; brother, Walter Andrews of Dumfries, VA; 3 sisters, Mrs. Mary Elsman and Mrs. Marge Williams both of Indianapolis, IN, and Mrs. Eula Ballinger of Denver, CO, and many nieces and nephews. Services will be at 1pm, Thursday, February 1, 1990, at the First Christian Church in El Reno, with the Revs. Marsha Bishop and C. Reese Porter officiating, burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery at Chickasha. Services are under the direction of Wilson Funeral Home in El Reno. The family suggest memorials to The First Christian Church in care of 400 S. Barker, El Reno, 73036.
