Mr. Davidson was born Nov. 5, 1931, in Wilmeth to William Frederick Davidson Sr. and Ellie Pearl Williams Davidson. He graduated from Post High School and Hardin-Simmons University. Fred served our great country in the Army while being stationed in Germany from 1953 to 1955.
Fred and Georgia Johnson were married July 12, 1958, in Texhoma, Okla. Their first years of marriage were spent in Plainview, where two daughters were born. After residing in Childress and Amarillo, they made their home in the Gruver area since 1970. Fred worked as an accountant for many years before retiring in 1996 from JMJ Land Company in Gruver.
Fred enjoyed many things - following the activities of his grandchildren, working in his garden and meeting for afternoon "conferences" at the Dairy Queen. Of major importance for Fred was service to the Lord through his church. He served in many capacities at First Baptist Church in Gruver as a deacon, Sunday school teacher, church treasurer and member of the building and grounds committee. The last seven years found Fred and Georgia actively serving the Top of Texas Area as Mission Service Corps Consultants, the volunteer arm of Southern Baptists. Family, friends and employers will always remember Fred as a man of great character - loyal, honest and just.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and his father-in-law, Lowell " Squidge " Johnson .
