  [S4] Knoxville News-Sentinel (Tennessee), 17 Jun 2013. SMITH, MRS. MABEL ROSE PALMER age 89 , of Knoxville , passed away on Friday , June 14th , 2013 . She was a graduate of Carson-Newman College, taught kindergarten at Trinity United Methodist Church, was a longtime member of Central Baptist of Bearden, current member of Cumberland Baptist Church, and a faithful servant of the Lord. Mrs. Smith is preceded death by her loving husband of 43 years, Wray Smith ; parents, Harvey and Bessie Fawver Palmer ; and brother, H.M. Palmer . She is survived by her children, Pamela Meadows, Darrell Smith and wife, Cindy, and Don Smith and wife, Mary Ann; grandchildren, Dr. Leanne Kersey, James McGinnis, Amy DiFranco, Andrew Smith , Rachel Smith , Michelle Smith , and Anna Rose Smith ; great grandchildren, Will, Emily and Parker Kersey, Scarlett DiFranco, Liam McGinnis, and sister, Edna Cate. The family will receive friends on Monday, June 17th, 2013 , from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Highland Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with funeral service to follow at 7:00 p.m. with Dr. Robert Brown officiating.
