Mr. Mattocks was born October 18th, 1948 in Guilford County, a son to the late Sterling and Margaret Mattocks . He received his B.A. in Business from High Point College and had worked at Trinity Furniture for 12 years. He was a resident of Davidson County for 40 years and was a member of New Jerusalem Church of Christ. In 1971 he married his wife of 40 years, the former Gloria Hancock who survives of the residence. Also surviving are two daughters, Charity Mattocks Goodman, 37, and husband Derek of West Jefferson and Cherish Mattocks , 28, and fiancée Cody Jenkins of Lexington; one sister, Barbara Sherrill of Randleman and an aunt, Faye Watson of Thomasville.
