Dana Glenn Hampton , 56 of Nashville, formerly of Harriman, went home to be with the Lord Friday, Sept. 20, 2013, after a battle with cancer.
He was born to the Rev. Frank and Geraldine Hampton on Sept. 7, 1956, in Harriman.
He was preceded in death by his father, the Rev. Frank Charles Hampton ; his grandparents, Charlie and Bessie Hampton , the Rev. Lacy and Zola Adkins; and his father-in-law, Otho Lee Hunt.
He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Sherry Hunt Hampton ; his mother, Geraldine Hampton ; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Brenda and Jerry Isham, and Anita and Gary Hamby; four brothers and three sisters-in-law, the Rev. Fred R. and Debbie Hampton , David and Lou Hampton , Paul and Cindy Hampton , and Lewis Hampton ; one daughter, Stacey Presley; two grandchildren, Jake and Haley Presley; one stepson, Jeremy Womack; his mother-in-law, Mildred Hunt; a brother-in-law, Terry Hunt; a sister-in-law, Melody Divids; special friends, George and Diane Mullens; a host of nieces, nephews, family, friends and loved ones.
The family received friends from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 22, in Emory Heights Baptist Church. Funeral services followed at 4 p.m., with the Rev. Ottis Ball and the Rev. Fred Hampton officiating. Burial followed at Emory Heights Cemetery. Davis Funeral Home, Harriman, was in charge of arrangements.
