She loved her LORD and was well known for her faith and her gift to deliver the ministry of the word of Jesus Christ. She was a charter member of Williamsburg Baptist Church as she worked very hard to start her loving church. She devoted over 50 years of teaching in Sunday School and Vacation Bible School. She also taught school at the Williamsburg School. She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Hobe Maples; father, John Price; mother, Martha Wilson Price; and a brother, Edward “Ed” Price. She is survived by: her children, daughters, Evelyn Janette Layman-Ballard and husband Eddie Ballard, Sammie Gail Maples, Sandra Kaye Manning, Loretta Gwen Brown and husband Joe Brown, and sons, Phillip Dwaine Maples and wife Pauline, and Joel Lee Maples; grandchildren, Steven Layman and wife Tracy, Jeffrey Henry and wife Renea, Jon Manning and wife Amy, Kim Myers Knight, Dwaine Maples and wife LeAnn, Bryson Hicks, Aaron Maples and wife Maria, and Whitney Hicks; great-grandchildren, Reece Layman, Emily Manning, Katie Manning, Austin Maples, and Rebecca Maples; and step great-grandchildren, Jordan and Reid Ballard; sisters, Dottie Reagan and the late Bruce Reagan, Sue Jensen and husband Harold Jensen, Johnnie Henry and husband Tommy Henry; brother, Howard Price and wife Ruby Price; step-grandchildren, Matt Ballard and wife Michelle, Shelby Brown and Amy Drew; special nephew, Jerry Price; and many nieces and nephews. Grace’s love and prayers will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Funeral service 7 PM Monday in the West Chapel of Atchley Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Beck and Rev. Chris Barnes officiating. Interment 10 AM Tuesday in Williamsburg Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be: Jon Manning, Steve Layman, Dwaine Maples, Aaron Maples, Bryson Hicks, and Jeffrey Henry.
