Betty Ruth Watson Huskey, age 82 of Pigeon Forge, went to be with her Heavenly Father on Tuesday, March 8, 2011. She was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Pigeon Forge where she was also a member of the Mamie Hill Mission Group, Volunteer Sunday School Class, Senior Adult Choir, and served as a Sunday School teacher. Betty was a devout Christian that loved her God and her family. She was a former teacher in Sevier County and a retired employee of the former Cherokee Textile Mills. She spent her free time and retirement years visiting and helping her many friends and relatives. She enjoyed many religious activities and keeping up with her grandsons and nephews. Betty’s spontaneous smile and cheerful personality will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her father James Arthur Watson, her mother Nola Mae Maples Watson King; sister and brother-in-law Bea and Joe Keener; special aunt and uncle Charles and Blanche Blalock.
She is survived by her husband David E. Huskey, son Doran Huskey and wife Mary, two grandsons Doran Jr. and wife Lydia, Matt and wife Heather; daughter Sharon Huskey and Joe Ailey with children Jennifer Darnell and husband Josh and their son Ethan, Ashley Carr and husband Ralph and their children Hunter and Sophie; special nephews Joe Keener and wife Tonya and sons Caleb and Wil, Steve Huskey and wife Robin, special friend Anna Kate Walker, loving caregiver Miss Lela Hill, and the members of the Cousins Breakfast Club.
Special thanks go to Dr. Curtis Burke, the staff of Fort Sanders Sevier Nursing Home, and Covenant Hospice (especially Julie, Gina, and Chaplain Ernie).

Funeral service 7 PM Friday in the West Chapel of Atchley Funeral Home with Rev. W.W. Cope and Rev. Mike Beck officiating. Interment 10 AM Saturday in Smoky Mountain Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends 4 to 6:45 PM Friday at Atchley Funeral Home Sevierville. (www.atchleyfuneralhome.com)
