Mrs. Alvildia "Rose" Gregg , age 73, of Newport passed away Monday afternoon, August 17, 2015, at the Heritage Center in Morristown.
Mrs. Gregg was a member of New Beginning Baptist Church. She loved helping others. She also loved flowers and tending her garden.
She was preceded in death by her parents Goland Olan Green and Matilda Sarah Gunter; daughter Sarah Ann Ball, and brothers Orvil Green, Jerry Lee Green and Arnie Gene Green.
Survivors include her husband Bobby Gregg of the home, children Gary (Jeannette) Ball, Ronald (Sarah) Ball all of Jefferson County, Rose Mary (Mark) Brown and Imogene Ball all of Dandridge, Larry Ball and Vena (Greg) Sutton all of Sevier County and Daniel (Brittney) Gregg of Newport; thirteen grandchildren including special granddaughter Kayden Gregg ; eleven great-grandchildren; sister Ruby Gulley of Newport; brothers Andy Green of Newport, Ira Green and Charlie Green, both of Dandridge. Additional survivors include several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday morning, August 20, 2015, at New Beginning Baptist Church with Pastor Gary Ball officiating. The casket will lie in state from 10:30-11:00 a.m. at the church prior to the service. Interment will be in the New Beginning Church Cemetery
The family received friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday evening at Costner-Maloy Funeral Home.
