Mrs. Doris Marie Bacon , age 78 , of Del Rio , passed away Saturday , August 15 , 2015 , at Newport Health and Rehabilitation Center of Newport. She was of the Christian faith. Her career as a nurse spanned over 35 years having being employed at Valentine-Shults Clinic and by Baptist Health Care. She was preceded in death by her son Shane Bacon ; parents Elbert and Edna Brooks Lawhon; brother Eugene Lawhon; nephew David Lawhon and former husband and the father of her children Joe Bacon . Survivors include her sons Todd Bacon of Del Rio and Arvin (Yvonne) Bacon of Knoxville; grandsons Aaron (Lauren) Bacon of Knoxville and Seth (Nicolette) Bacon of Knoxville; and great-grandchildren Andrik Bacon , Maxim Bacon and Vivienne Bacon , all of Knoxville. Additional survivors include her friend and caregiver Darlene Coulter of Newport. The family received friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Monday evening, August 17, 2015 at Costner-Maloy Funeral Home.
