John Thomas Shipwash, born January 4, 1936 went to be with the Lord on July 28, 2015 in Alcoa. John served in the Tennessee National Guard. He retired from Alcoa Water Department and was a long standing member of Central Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Omega Shipwash; sister, Carolyn Shipwash; and great-nephew, Cameron Shipwash. He will live on in his family’s memories; his wife, Mary Shipwash; brothers, Frank and Dot Shipwash and Ben and Kathy Shipwash. As well as his children, Cheryl and Mike Raulston, Mike and Rhonda Huffstetler, Ricky and Mary Alice Huffstetler, and David and Melissa Huffstetler; grandchildren, Tiffany and Jason, Brian and Katie, Scott and Melissa, and Megan and Brandon; great-grandchildren, Dakota, Jayla, Seth, Garret, and Emma. Funeral service will be held at 8:00 PM Friday, July 31, 2015 at Miller Funeral Home, Magnolia Chapel, Rev. Greg Kelly and Rev. Chad Ramsey officiating. The interment will be held 11:00 AM Saturday at Grandview Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Friday at Miller Funeral Home, Maryville.
